BOUTIQUE HOTEL INTERIOR DESIGN
WAYFINDER HOTEL
NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND
The renovation reflects Newport’s coastal character through layered textures, custom artwork, and a relaxed, eclectic mix of vintage and contemporary design elements. Whitewashed brick, rich slate flooring, and deep navy millwork form a refined backdrop, punctuated by playful color accents, natural textures, and hand-selected pieces from local artists and artisans.
The hotel’s 197 guest rooms feature custom furnishings and curated art, while public spaces—including the Nomi Park restaurant, the B-Side Café, and the Pool Shack—blend New England nostalgia with a modern, bohemian sensibility. At the heart of the lobby, a bold mustard-yellow fireplace anchors a lounge outfitted with terrazzo floors, sculptural furniture, and abstract murals. The pool deck channels a retro resort aesthetic, complete with striped loungers, fringe-trimmed umbrellas, and glowing string lights.
By weaving local craftsmanship, bold hues, and a laid-back atmosphere into every space, Mey & Co. redefined the Wayfinder Hotel as a contemporary Newport retreat—one that feels both timeless and distinctly of its place.
