Mey & Co is currently accepting applications for a Junior Interior Architect position starting this summer.
This is a full-time role in our Portland, Maine studio. We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team to participate in a wide range of hospitality and commercial projects, initially working on both on both smaller restaurant and larger hotel projects.
Candidates must be self-motivated, focused, and able to function in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to organize and complete a comprehensive drawing set from the SD through CD phases is a necessity. An interest is various design styles and historical references will be advantageous.
Candidates should be eager to jump into new projects and enjoy the opportunity to learn and grow through hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Image and concept research
- Sourcing and material research
- Drawing set production in Revit
- Coordination with other disciplines
- Drawing of custom FF&E items in Revit
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or Masters in interior architecture or architecture is required.
- 1+ years of professional experience working in an architecture or interiors firm
- Experience in hospitality and/or commercial work is a plus
- Strong proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe suite and Bluebeam.
- Must possess an attention to detail and ability to be thorough in all aspects of the job
- Excellent spatial ability and developed problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
